Attention Gardeners! Are you interested in learning how to prune small trees and shrubs? Caring for groundcovers? Designing a garden for quiet times and meditation? The Carroll County Master Gardeners will present a two-part program on March 10, 2018 at the Gillette Garden, located in front of the Alesia/Medford Red Buildings at the Carroll County Agricultural Center in Westminster.
Part I will be designing a Meditation Garden presented by Pam White, a professional landscape designer, who re-designed the garden 11 years ago.
Part II will be a demonstration on pruning small trees and shrubs by Master Gardener, Rose Norseth.
The program will start at 10:00 A.M. and end around noon. Admission is free and open to all. Dress appropriately. If the weather is inclement the program will be moved inside Blizzard Hall of the Ag Center (classroom adjacent to the garden).
Carroll County Forestry Board is pleased to announce they are now accepting orders for Free Backyard Buffer seedling packets for all Carroll County residents within 300 feet of a water body. Carroll County Forestry Board is also accepting registration for the ‘Fish Grow On Trees’ workshop. This year, the workshop focuses on streamside forest benefits for Maryland wildlife, including native brook trout restoration and federally endangered bog turtles.
